Bonte clothing is what happens when two old friends with decades in fashion decide to do things their own way. Sophie and Arjun design the label in London, working almost entirely in organic cotton and drawing on a shared love of colour, print and the textile craft of India. Bonté takes its name from the French word for kindness and goodness, and the brand is built around it. Production sits with SEDEX-audited factories, fabrics are organic cotton, recycled fibres or rescued deadstock, and nothing is designed for a single season. That thinking matches how we buy for OSO. A piece has to be worth keeping.
The current edit leans into Bonte's organic cotton signatures. The Flora tops, in white voile and a yarn-dyed blue stripe, carry delicate embroidery and scalloped edges. The Rosie jacket takes the embroidery onto heavier cream cloth. Marie is its denim cousin in blue ticking stripe, and the Vida reverses from floral print to navy gingham. Alongside the jackets sit the Andie shirt dress in navy cotton-linen, wide-leg Aide trousers in ice blue twill and gingham seersucker, garment-dyed Noemi sweatpants and a graphic boyfriend tee in ecru.
Sophie and Arjun met in India long before Bonte existed, and spent years building collections for other brands before deciding their combined experience deserved a label of its own. They chose the name deliberately, and it shows in how the clothes are made.
